Our Guide to Staying In Bariloche

September 5th, 2022

Bariloche, Argentina

Sasha & Eric Hathaway

After spending a few days in Buenos Aires researching everything we could do in Bariloche we’d decided on the following: mountain biking, a few hikes, and of course eating our way through the quaint town.

Hopping onto the flight, we felt ready to get the most out of our time in the Patagonian town of Bariloche. However, when we landed with our minds set on summer activities, we were hit with the realization that it was still shoulder season, and in fact spring skiing was in its prime.

We quickly started researching skiing in the area and reached out to some friends who had previously spent time there. After lining up some ski days and getting pumped to get back on the hill, I was unfortunately hit with a nasty sickness, leading to spending our entire 5 days in Bariloche alternating between the bed and the bathroom. Although we didn’t get to see much of this beautiful town, Patagonia is definitely on our list of places to return too.

Where We Stayed

I will say, if you are headed to Bariloche, this airbnb is absolutely stunning. Located a walking distance away from downtown, right on the lake with a beautiful view, and floor to ceiling windows letting in plenty of natural light, this was the perfect place to be holed up for a week. Not only did we have amazing lake views, we also got a perfect view of the most colorful and diverse sunsets we’ve ever seen.

Although we didn’t get out much while we were here, Barlicohe is an adventure lover's dream and filled with plenty of activities for every season. On our final day in Bariloche, I was starting to feel somewhat better so we took a small adventure and drove the 7-lakes drive which was stunning. Winding roads through small ski towns, dense forests, and beautiful alpine lakes.
